Picked up the 7-10 Split
January 19, 2009 by Bowl 900
HI gang, just wanted to point out that I picked up the 7-10 split the other night in league. Now I have done this 3 times before but this time it was special so to speak. I actually had to pick it up to win my overall total against my opponent. Now I wasn’t really trying but hoping for a clean shot off the hand into the 10 pin and a lucky bounce out of the back. And sure enough the shot had a good speed and was headed right were I was aiming and hit the ten in the left middle portion of the pin where it hit the side-back and bounced out of the pit onto the middle of the deck when the pin rolled into the 7. Nice ya?
Let me know how many of you have picked up this 7-10 split.

There’s Nothing Like A Night On The Lane
January 5, 2009 by Bowl 900
There’s nothing like a night on the lane, bowling against in your local bowling league, hoping against hope that the last pin will fall over and give you that perfect strike. The shattering of the pins, the fantastic rush as the ball returns, ready for another delivery. Bowling is more than a game. It’s life.
To the enthusiasts of the sport, bowling is intense. The beaming shine on the lanes, the steady rolling of ball after ball knocking the pins away, the clatter of a strike when they all go down. It’s easy to see why bowling is one of America’s favorite pastimes.
Like all sports, there are all levels of eagerness. Some are only occasional partakers, going bowling every once in a while, content with alley shoes and alley balls. Other bowlers are life time enthusiasts, buying their own bowling balls, bringing their own shoes to the lane. For these bowlers, a cheap ball just won’t do. They want their own, customized to their personal bowling style and individual finger characteristics.
A layman bowler might not understand why you really need your own ball. To them, bowling might not be a recognized sport or real form of recreation. But to enthusiasts, bowling is life. It’s a cheap way to unwind after work, catch a few lanes with some friends, compete against not only your buddies but also yourself. It’s like facing yourself in the mirror every night and making sure you are the best.
For many, bowling is a community. It defines who they are. Bowling is a convenient, affordable and social recreation, perfect for an evening with the guys or a fun event for families. Some enjoy having their own one of a kind bowling shoes, customized to their preferences. It improves their game as well as their contentedness.
Because if anything, bowling should be satisfying or it’s just no fun. This is your game. Let it define who you are. Customize your gear to fit you, only you, because bowling is as individual a sport as you can get. Nobody’s hands are like yours. Nobody bowls like you do. Why use somebody else’s ball?

When You Have To Have That Arsenal

There’s a difference between occasional bowlers and real enthusiasts. For those who just bowl an occasional game once a year with friends or family, owning your own bowling ball might not be a priority. You just don’t have enough passion to the sport.
But for those bowling enthusiasts who live and breathe the game, owning their own bowling ball is imperative to their enjoyment of the game. The ball is pivotal to the sport, and having a sleek, customized ball and a bowling ball bags brings a whole new dimension of style and class to the game. Plus, your own ball you can get customized to reflect your own personality, etched with your initials or featuring the pendant of your favorite football team, for example.
And that’s just on the surface. Deep down, in the core of the ball, is where a ball’s personality is contained. The core determines the balance and spin of the ball, creating a pivotally fast spin or a steady finish, depending on your own bowling style. The characteristics of the core determine the spin of the ball, and can be specifically designed to your strength and bowling style. A ball can be designed with a heavy center for easy spin or with a lighter center for a slower, steadier ball.
Also, a customized bowling ball can be drilled with holes specific to your finger ratios. Holes that have been correctly drilled for your own fingers add more control to the ball, as well as a prime performance. Typically, bowlers using custom-drilled finger holes can throw a two-pound heavier ball than one with more generic holes. This adds leverage and weight to bowler’s throw, which results in a heavier average of pins down and a lot more strikes.
Plus, there’s the enormous pride you feel owning your own ball. A slick ball stands out, brings attention to your game. Like different styles of sports cars, a ball says something about its individual owner. An attractive ball shows off its owner’s styles and tastes, not to mention his or her enthusiasm for the game.

Half Of Your Game Is In Your Slide

Half of your game is in your slide or your brake. Being able to change your style through interchangeable heels and soles gives you the ability to adjust your game.
Accurate bowling requires good foot placement and launch. Strategy varies adapting to a bowler’s style, some preferring to slide as they launch the ball for added velocity, others need a solid brake for perfect accuracy. By varying the concentration of sliding soles and braking heels, a bowler can customize|specialize|individualize[/spin] his or her preferences, customized to their game.
An innovator in the science of bowling technology, Dexter bowling shoes offer a bowler options to specialize their shoe to their specified style of the game. A strong sole is recommended for normal or slippery approaches, ideal for a beginner bowler looking for a little slide. A strong heel is recommended for normal approaches, perfect for the “stroker” who wants the least amount of break.
The first to develop interchangeable sliding soles and breaking heals to adapt to different approach conditions, Dexter allows a bowler to switch soles or heels during the game, depending on how much slide or brake they desire. This approach can be specialized to the best of their game, or switched and altered for a new strategy.
Known to be the number one bowling shoe in the world, Dexter bowling shoes bring creativeness to the sport. They do so because of an open line of communication they establish with their customers, continually re-evaluating the performance of their shoes through customer feedback. They have an openness to suggestions and ideas, and they listen to the bowlers who use their products.
You want comfort, style and performance in a footwear. You want versatility and interchangeable styles. A leader in the bowling footwear industry, Dexter bowling footwears have brought innovation to the sport. They give a bowler room to adjust his or her game. Maybe that’s why they’re the chosen foot-ware of 2007-2008 PBA Tour Player of the Year Chris Barnes. Williams won 44 career single titles, the most of all-time.
Customizing your footwear to your individual style optimizes your performance. Whether you want a heavy brake or a nice long glide going into the throw, the choice is up to you. A versatile footwear gives you more options.
